LEWISTON — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing at Central Maine Medical Center is offering a free nutrition workshop for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers.
“Even Small Changes Make a Difference presented by Meg Wolff” will take place from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, at 12 High St., conference room A. A book signing will follow the presentation from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Wolff, an author and two-time cancer survivor, will focus on a healthier plant-based way of eating. She utilizes simple steps and keeps it fun. Her first book “Becoming Whole” tells her compelling story while explaining the science behind a plant-based diet. Meal plans, recipes and other resources are also included.
She has recently completed her first cookbook, “A Life in Balance: Healthy Recipes from Maine,” scheduled for publishing this fall. A variety of friends contributed to the book, including Olympic gold medalist and fellow Mainer Joan Benoit Samuelson, author/life coach Kathy Freston, Physicians for Responsible Medicine President Dr. Neal Barnard and NBA great John Salley.
Pre-registration is available by calling the Dempsey Center at (207) 795-8250, toll-free 1-877-336-7287 or online at www.dempseycenter.org.
