Nurse of Year

AUGUSTA — The Maine Department of Education and the Maine Association of School Nurses will celebrate the Maine School Nurse of the Year at the Blaine House Tea from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Thursday, May 5.

RSVP Nancy Dube at nancy.dube@maine.gov to attend as the Blaine House requires an attendance list for entry.

Cake bingo

DIXFIELD — Cake Bingo will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 5, at Dirigo High School Student Community Center. Sponsored by the junior class of 2012. Starting price is $5 for three cards, depending on number of cards played.

Emergency training

RUMFORD — An emergency preparedness training exercise will take place at 5 p.m. Thursday, May 5, at Rumford Hospital. The drill will focus on the communication and evacuation among hospital employees and a Unified Command, which consists of area fire departments and MedCare. Emergency personnel will be in the Rumford Hospital vicinity for the training exercise. Residents may wish to use an alternate route to avoid delays during this time.
