LEWISTON — The first baby born at Central Maine Medical Center arrived in the wee hours Sunday morning.
Abby Conary and John Cole of Lewiston welcomed Jaxson Cole at 3:57 a.m. Sunday. Jaxson weighed 7 pounds, 6 ounces and measured 19 3/4 inches.
“He’s a feisty little boy and he likes to eat,” Conary said.
Conary, a stay-at-home mom, and Cole, a FedEx delivery worker, are parents to 3-year-old Echo, 5-year-old Alice, 6-year-old John Jr. and 8-year-old Sara. Jaxson’s siblings met the newborn over a video call and were quickly “obsessed,” Conary said.
Cole said Jaxson’s birth was a completely different experience for him compared to the birth of his eldest daughter.
“I was cool and collected the whole labor for (Conary). As soon as Jaxson’s out, I know the whole routine,” Cole said. “My first child, I almost passed out.”
He said he was looking forward to bringing Jaxson home and snuggling with him.
“It’s a good warm feeling. It makes you feel content with everything that’s going on around you.”
