Our country needs significant preservation to provide safety and profitability to our people. Roads, mass transit, water systems and the electric grid are all in sad shape because it’s time for more than mere maintenance.
The rest of the industrialized nations make America appear to be stuck in the ’60s with innovations in their rail systems, new types of materials used for road surfaces, and up-to-date water systems. And the American Society of Civil Engineers said U.S. infrastructure scored a D+, and urged the government and private sector to increase spending by $2 trillion within the next 10 years.
So, we have a Democrat in the White House who sees the need to maintain our country in order to sustain our economy and for everyone’s safety, but at the same time we have half of our politicians whose stated aim is 100% focused on “stopping” Biden’s administration.
U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell says that fixing the infrastructure is socialist: “It’s an introduction of socialism into America, done on a one-party basis in a Congress that’s virtually tied.”
This is a sad showing for the country that is supposedly the richest in the world. That we have a political party whose main purpose is to keep finding more and more money for the wealthy folks who continue to line politician’s pockets.
So, while threatening representatives on the other side of the aisle to stir up animosity in their own base, the Republicans obviously want America weakened to the point of failure.
I invite people to prove me wrong.
