MINOT – Nomination papers to serve on the Regional School Unit 16 board of directors will be available starting on Wednesday.

There are three positions to be filled in this year’s election: two are for three-year terms and one is for a single year to fill the remainder of a term after someone resigned.

Anyone interested in running for one of the seats in the March 4 election can take out nomination papers from the town office during business hours.

There are also two selectmen positions on the ballot. They have three-year terms.

To get on the ballot, candidates need to collect 25 signatures from registered voters in Minot. Those signing the papers are under no obligation to vote for any particular candidate.

The petitions have to be completed and turned in before 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3 to get a spot on the ballot.
