By now the election in which Central Maine Power spent mega bucks misrepresenting about Question 1 will be over. Perhaps now it is indeed time to move forward with the proposed consumer-owned utility to replace CMP; such a proposal passed the Legislature this year.
CMP’s project mainly benefits its own’s bottom line, Hydro Quebec and Massachusetts, though Lewiston, the site of a major substation located on my deceased uncle’s farm, will also benefit from new tax money.
John Michael’s great full page ad on Oct. 28 detailed the righteous case for voting yes on 1.
The merits of the project could not escape CMP’s reputation of mismanagement and poor customer relations.
