NORWAY — Nikki Millonzi has had much more time in her studio during this past year and a half with COVID restrictions. Fortunately for her, there is no place she would rather be! The current show at Cafe Nomad, 480 Main St., Norway (Mon-Sat. 7-3) exhibits paintings from this time.
They tell stories with vivid color, bold brush strokes, and unusual textures. Some of these textures are soft and lacy, some bold and patterned. In one the OM symbol is woven into the design. There are a dozen of these semi-abstract panels.
One shows a teeming July garden; another a perfect summer day; yet another, a quiet, mysterious evening; and even something all too familiar…. “the one that got away”. (A large fish) See this show at Cafe Nomad Oct. 2-30.
