On Saturday, September 11, Anson Dyke, 14, of Otisfield entered the vehicle he built in the West Paris Downhill Derby’s Anything Goes race. Dyke took first place. Anyone wishing to race in the Anything Goes races next summer should spend some time this winter building a vehicle. The rules are simple, the vehicle must have working steering and brakes. The driver must wear a helmet, sneakers and be able to push the vehicle up the hill to race. Vehicles in the past have included a canoe, BBQ grill, pool and a furnace. What can you come up with? Lisa McCann
