LEWISTON — The Lewiston Seniors group is not resuming activities and leaders have not planned any activities for the near future, because of a resurgence of COVID-19 cases.
The group had been planning to again offer activities for members at its Lewiston Armory site, but leaders canceled those plans as cases climbed and concerns about members’ health and safety grew. The details of those now-defunct plans were mistakenly printed in the Sun Journal Tuesday morning.
There will be no membership meeting this month and the area of the armory used by the group will not be open.
Leaders said Tuesday they will continue to monitor case numbers and update the membership when they feel conditions are safe enough to resume activities.
At this time, the organization is still planning trips for the fall and next year.
The following trips are still scheduled: Washington Hotel and Resort, Nov. 28-29; Costa Rica, March 12-20, 2022; Washington, D.C., April 7-13, 2022; and Mackinac Island, Sept. 10-18, 2022.
