LISBON — A local man was arrested Thursday on a drunken-driving charge after he rolled his car several times on Upland Road, police said.

John Paul, 25, of Lisbon Falls was charged with operating under the influence and booked at the Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn, Lisbon police Sgt. Scott Stewart said.

Paul was driving east at about 5:40 p.m. when he lost control of his 2001 Acura sedan, veering off the road and overcorrecting before the car rolled several times and landed on its roof, the officer said.

Lisbon Fire Department personnel had to extricate him from the wrecked car. Paul was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston but was not admitted, Stewart said.

Paul remained at the jail Thursday night on a probation hold, officials said.
