Janet L. Brunjes

SOUTH PARIS – Janet Louise Brunjes, 90, of Norway passed away on Monday, Aug. 21, 2023, at Market Square Healthcare Center. She was born in Corinna, Maine on Dec. 3, 1932, the daughter of James and Laura Condin McIntire.

Janet graduated from Lisbon High School and worked as a licensed practical nurse first at Brunswick Regional Hospital and later at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway.

Janet has been an instrumental driving force behind ECTRA since the early 1970s. Her work continued on for 50 years for an organization and its members she loved so dearly. Hosting several rides annually here in Maine and volunteering at rides all over the ECTRA territory regularly.

One of her passions was breeding quality Arabian horses that you could use for anything, they especially excelled at CTR & Endurance.

She enjoyed quilting and knitting gifts for family and friends.

Janet is survived by her daughter Patricia Goodwin; her son Jay Brunjes; her daughter Libby Nilsen; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Jean Raymond Brunjes in 2018; and her daughter Kathy in 2012.
