AUBURN — Following more than a year of construction, and in preparation for the start of school, the City of Auburn plans to open the new Edward Little High School at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27.
The Auburn School Department, elected officials, special guests, students, staff, and community members plan to gather outside the new Harris Street school for a grand opening ceremony and ribbon cutting.

Mayor Jason Levesque will offer a keynote address, followed by special guests from the Maine Department of Education and the Maine State Board of Education. Attendees will also hear from the chair of the Auburn School Committee, Karen Mathieu, as well as ELHS Principal Scott Annear.
The Edward Little High School Concert Band will play the school song, and ELHS student Annabeth Treadwell will sing the National Anthem as the Auburn Police Department Honor Guard presents the colors.
Students from Edward Little High School will cut the ribbon to open the facility, after which all will be welcomed inside to tour and explore the new high school until 5 p.m.
