TOGUS – Richard H. “Dickey” Levesque, 73, of Lexington Twp, died at Togus VA Hospice, Wednesday, August 16. He was born in Lewiston, on Dec. 1, 1949, and grew up in Auburn with both of his parents, Carmen and Edgar Levesque, and brother Wally.
Richard spent 1969 to 1973 in the United States Air Force before moving to Lexington and earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maine at Farmington. He worked mostly servicing telephones; notably as a cable and fiber troubleshooter for T.D.S. Despite being challenged by corrosive health issues, he managed to have more wear than rust.
He liked to walk, garden, keep ahead of the firewood pile, and he really enjoyed building things – some odd, some not. Richard lived a simple, pleasant, independent, and responsible life at his home in Lexington.
Richard leaves behind many fine relatives including his brother Walter and his wife Raymonde; his niece Rachel Rowe and husband Chip, and their son Conner; nephew Brian Levesque, wife Jamie, and their sons Gavin and Cole; his niece Sue Gatto, husband Tim, and their daughter Alexis.
Relatives and friends may call at the Wiles Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington, Wednesday, August 30 at 11 a.m. with Father Paul Dumais officiating. Interment with Air Force honors will follow at 2 p.m. at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 143 Blue Star Ave., Augusta.
Memories may be shared in his Book of memories at http://www.wilesrc.com.
