I write in rebuttal to columnist Austin Bay (“The Biden administration’s destruction of American soft power,” Aug. 12), who is a commentator and definitely not an actual journalist.
Quoting an opinion from conservative blog ManhattanContrarian.com as fact is typical GOP tactics. Do people remember the “Benghazi, Benghazi, etc.,” big claims and insinuations, but no convictions?
This is a rerun of what Republicans do when they have a stage to play on. Does Mr. Bay really believe that an honest historian will laud Donald J. Trump’s term in office? Because his purported love for North Korea’s leader and methods is disgusting.
Fox (faux) news called out Nick Langworthy, Republican congressman from New York, on Aug. 10 for saying there is no hard proof against President Biden.
Also, comparing Vladimir Putin’s legal methods with the treatment of Don, who is a legal manipulator par excellence, is ludicrous — sort of like when the Trump campaign called his indictment a “persecution … reminiscent of Nazi Germany, the former Soviet Union, and other dictatorial and authoritarian regimes.”
And they Question Biden’s competence?
