Kimberly Simard Delano

AUBURN – Kimberly Simard Delano, 52, passed away on Friday, Aug. 11, 2023, after a brief battle with brain cancer. Born on June 26, 1971, in Norway, Maine, to Wayne and Sandra (White) Delano, she passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones.

Kim was a free-spirited child, having many adventures, often dragging her younger sister, Kristen, along for the ride. While attending Telstar Middle School/High School she met lifelong friends Aimee and Wanda.

Kim’s love for her boys Keagan and Cooper was unconditional, she was always there for both of them. Although she never had daughters, she “adopted” many. Whether it was nieces or her best friend’s daughters, Kim mothered them all as if they were her own.

In 2005, Kim married the love of her life, Michael Simard, and after a brief “hiatus”, they married for a second time in 2016. She always said she loved him so much that she married him twice. Marrying Michael also meant marrying into his large family, who she grew to love as her own.

Kim began her career as an orthodontic assistant with Dr. Glad’s Orthodontics Office, where she received on-the-job training and worked for over 10 years. In 2003, Kim started a new job at Dr. Levy’s Orthodontics Office, where she remained for 20 years. Kim was passionate about her career and loved the people and patients she worked with.

Always a free spirit, Kim, a traveler at heart, lived her life to the fullest. She touched so many lives in her short time on this earth. She had a knack for making friends everywhere she went. Kim was a loving wife, daughter, mother, granddaughter and friend.

She enjoyed boat days at Cobbosseecontee Lake and trips to Marco Island with her husband, where they met some of their most treasured friends. She was the life of the party wherever she went and her wicked sense of humor always made everyone laugh. Her ability to make light of such a trying situation was an inspiration.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Michael, who lovingly cared for her through sickness and health; her parents Wayne and Sandra Delano; her two sons Keagan Easter and Cooper Easter; her sister Kristen Garbarini and husband Daniel; her nephew Garrett and niece Saydie and her three puppies, Xena, Charlee and Remy, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

Kim was predeceased by her beloved Grammy, Juliette White.

A celebration of Kim’s life will be held Saturday, September 16, from 1- 4 p.m., at The Carriage House at The Gregory Inn, 767 River Road, Mexico. Kim touched so many lives throughout her journey. We hope you will join us in honoring hers, as it was far too short.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Androscoggin Hospice House and all the Doctors, Nurses and staff that cared for her.

In lieu of flowers, our family encourages you to donate to the Glioblastoma Foundation as they try to find a cure for this horrible disease. Kim has always tried to help others, and we know she would want us to continue this in her memory.
