Erica Rae Longchamps

LEWISTON – Erica Rae Longchamps, 41, of Auburn, passed away peacefully Tuesday Aug. 8, 2023, with her family by her side.

Erica was born in Lewiston, on Aug. 27, 1981, the daughter of James and Judy (Chick) Longchamps. She graduated from Lewiston High School in 1999. Following High School she went on to get her bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Maine. Erica was currently employed at the Margaret Murphy Center for Children, a career that she was passionate about. She was known for her loving commitment to her students and her tough work ethic. Erica previously worked and managed Levers Daycare Center, where she formed many loyal and lifelong friendships.

Among her many interests were spending time with her family and friends, shopping with her daughter Nevaeh, always winning at board games (but pretty awful when it came to lawn games), taking her dog Archer for walks and camping up in Jackman. She loved music, because if you knew Erica, she would finish anyone’s sentence with a song. Above all the most important thing in Erica’s life was her daughter Nevaeh!

Erica is survived by her daughter Nevaeh Longchamps of Orono, her parents, James and Judy (Chick) Longchamps of Lewiston, two sisters, Angie St.Hilaire and her husband Earl of Lewiston and Alicia Chapman and her husband Matt of Auburn; her nieces, Camree, Bailee, and Toree of Lewiston, and her nephews, Jack and Wesley of Auburn.

She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Edward Chick of Monmouth and Rachel Chick of Wales and paternal grandparents, Maurice and Irene Longchamps of Lewiston.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Beacon Hospice center.

Visitations will be held on Sunday August 13, from 4-7 p.m., followed by a Ceremony of Life at 10 a.m on Monday August 14, at the Fortin group Funeral Home, 217 Turner St., Auburn.
