SOUTH PARIS – On Aug. 6 , 2023, Kenneth Taylor of Turner left his earthly work behind to travel to his heavenly home. He was born in Lewiston, Maine Feb. 24, 1923, attended Auburn Schools and served in the US Army in the European Theater during World War II where he participated in the Battle of the Bulge. He married his wife of 61 years, Ruth, on Oct. 17, 1942 and they enjoyed 61 years of marriage. Following his service discharge, they built a home in Poland where they raised their family.
Ken was a very hard worker and enjoyed a career in industrial and engineering sales for several businesses including A. C. Electric and J.W. Penny & Sons. He loved traveling and working with people.
In 1990, they moved to a new home in Turner, which he named Sunset Acres. Here, he enjoyed his flowers, watching birds and mowing acres of grass. He resided here until one week prior to his death.
Ken was a member of the Tyrian Masonic Lodge of Mechanic Falls and a former member of the Minot Corner Methodist Church and the Stevens Mills Grange.
He is survived by his daughter Shirley Hartwell of Turner, his son, Scott Taylor and wife Cindy of Fort Myers, Fla., a granddaughter, Lindsay Valentine of Lithia, Fla., and a grandson Brian Taylor of Fort Worth, Texas and three great-grandchildren, Mackenzie,Tristan and Victoria Valentine of Lithia, Fla., and his faithful companion, his dog, Daisy. He was predeceased by his mother Helen Kenney, his wife Ruth Taylor and his daughter Susan Taylor Cote.
