I was moved by Mr. David Peck’s recent letter, “Where are the tears?” (Aug. 3). But not in the manner which Mr. Peck intended.
I would suggest that if he opened his heart and his eyes he would find that there are very few women faced with the abortion decision who proceed without tears. And by the way, there are probably plenty of partners in tears as well.
I can only imagine the pain and anguish women/families face when they make this decision.
And if Mr. Peck kept his eyes open when watching protests he would see “ red-faced” and “angry” and, dare I say, ugly hatred among anti-abortion protesters. These people don’t seem to me to have any empathy for people who don’t see things their way.
If Mr. Peck were a women faced with rape or incest or an unviable pregnancy I wonder if he might see things differently and shed some of his own tears.
