Throughout Carl Sheline’s first term as Lewiston’s mayor he demonstrated his dedication and love for the city.
He visited Lewiston’s public school classrooms and interacted with teachers, principals, and staff on a personal level.
He gets to know the people in his city and what the needs are. I live in Auburn and teach school in Lewiston and I know Sheline listens, asks questions, and works to understand; all important qualities of a leader.
This was especially true during this year’s budget cycle where he continuously advocated to fund necessary programs in schools as well as the public library and other publicly funded programs.
Furthermore, Sheline has supported the installation of arts projects across Lewiston, making public spaces as colorful and vibrant as its citizens. He also supports diversity and equity efforts throughout our community.
For these reasons and more, I endorse Mayor Sheline for a second term in office.
