DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Anglican Church of the Transfiguration at 64 Elm St. in  Mechanic Falls, will be holding a fundraising yard sale  from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 5 in conjunction with the Mechanic Falls Community Days Celebration.

If anyone wishes to donate articles for the yard sale, please call or text Eriks Petersons at 345-3134, or Nancy Petersons at 689-7025. We are not accepting heavy items or clothing.  We will be selling small appliances, kitchen items, home decor, tools, odds and ends, and vintage items.—Nancy, Mechanic Falls

ANSWER: There are many nonprofits and fundraising sales to donate the items you no longer need that still have some good life left in them. I hope you’ll take time on these rainy days to clean out your cupboards, closets, basements, attics, and garages. There are so many people and organizations in need who can  benefit.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Lewiston Auburn Community Little Theatre wants to thank Sun Spots for shining a bright light on its very first on-line Envelope Challenge! It’s a unique, important way to celebrate CLT’s historic performance record over the past 83 years and make its future brighter than ever.

The Envelope Challenge on the CLT website features 300 lively envelopes from $1.00 to $300, each with an urgent request to “Buy Me”. Successful completion of the Challenge will mean approximately $45,000 for CLT to transform into an even more vibrant future for all. Some of those “lively” envelopes are holding a special prize.

People have until Sept. 21 to pick dollar numbers, but we all agree that sooner is better than later. Again, thanks to Sun Spots–you make so many dreams come true!—Bob, no town
