The Lewiston Public Library plans to host a free community puzzle swap from 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday, July 10, in the Jeanne Couture Room on the first floor of the 200 Lisbon Street library.

Over the years, the library has amassed a collection of puzzles. Its staff would like to trade them out for some that community members have at home. The library has a wide variety of images, including animals, plants and flowers, as well as cityscapes with sizes ranging from 48 to 1,000 pieces.

People can bring a puzzle or two to swap or just take one of the library’s; no registration or other preparation is required.

Participation in this drop-in event counts towards the library’s summer reading program, which runs until Friday, Aug. 18 with the theme of Read, Make and Explore. Participants are encouraged not only to read or listen to books but also make a new craft or recipe or explore a favorite place in the city or a new landmark in the state.

For more information, contact the library at 207-513-3135 or lplreference@lewistonmaine.gov.
