The Lewiston Youth Advisory Council plans to hold a community outreach event, Drink Lemonade and Donate to School Aid, on Thursday, July 6.
Youth council members will serve lemonade to individuals who donate school supplies and travel-size hygiene products for teens who utilize The Store Next Door, which assists homeless youth in Lewiston schools, as well as supplies for younger students to whom the Store reaches out. The age range for donations is kindergarten to age 18.
The Store Next Door, 145 Birch St., is a nonprofit organization that provides Lewiston homeless students with clothing, hygiene items, household goods, and community resources.
Supplies that the youth council suggests for donation, in exchange for a cup of lemonade, include backpacks, notebooks, pens, pencils and binders.
The youth council’s lemonade stand will be in the parking area of The Store Next Door from noon to 4:30 p.m. with a designated drop-off spot (indoor in the case of inclement weather).
