Why can’t Maine farmers sue the Environmental Protection Agency for its lack of action regarding PFAS? (“A forever farm is no match for forever chemicals,” June 11)

We read all too often of farmers being wiped out because of their land, water, animals and even themselves being poisoned by a chemical that is supposedly overseen and regulated by this government agency.

Has it occurred to the citizens of this once great nation that our government has failed miserably to protect its citizens?

The EPA is a huge agency with vast powers and extreme cost that has not lived up to its intended purpose. Why then are we citizens being asked to fund a bureaucracy that is not doing what it was created to do?

Many such government agencies are huge bureaucratic monoliths that have long since stopped doing what they were intended to do and eat our hard-earned tax dollars at an overwhelming rate.

Why are our congressmen and women not looking out for “we the people?”

Most, it seems, are engrossed in looking out for their own benefit and to heck with us,  the little people. This is not the government created by the founding fathers and it is way past time to stop this fraud and drain the Washington swamp.

Wake up America.
