An exhibit featuring the work of guest artist acrylic painter Dee Burdick will run from Saturday, June 17, to Wednesday, July 19, at Gallery 302 in Bridgton. A reception will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, July 7.
Burdick is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire where she earned her BA degree in painting and graphics. She continued to learn while painting with several local artists, namely DeWitt Hardy and Dennis Poirier. She is a juried member of The Art Guild of the Kennebunks. She characterizes her style of painting as disrupted realism: a recognizable subject combined with abstracted elements. This mix of realism and abstraction allows her to paint intuitively. Strong value contrasts and bright colors in her acrylic paintings immediately attract the viewer. At a closer look interesting details are revealed.
Gallery 302 is located at 112 Main St., Bridgton. Gallery hours are from 12 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday-Friday; and from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday-Sunday. For more information, call (207) 647-2787, visit gallery302.com or visit the Facebook page.
