“First, do no harm” is the basic premise and underlying principle of health care. This was spoken over 2,000 years ago by Hippocrates and should hold true to this day.

Unfortunately, we’ve transgressed as a society if we’ve moved from “First, do no harm” to L.D. 1619. The latter of which does as much harm as possible as quickly as possible by aborting a precious life minutes before delivery.

This is not progress nor “The Way Life Should Be.”

I was proud to have testified against this heinous piece of legislation on May 1 in Augusta. This issue is one of life itself and should transcend ideologies.

I pray our politicians vote no on L.D. 1619 and adhere to the basic premise and underlying principle of health care: “First, do no harm.”
