OXFORD — In October of 2022, officers from the Oxford Police Department responded to a local residence for a report of a fatal drug overdose. As a result of the drug overdose death, an investigation was initiated, according to Oxford Police Chief Rickie Jack.
Through diligent investigation, according to Oxford Police Detective Brandon Correia, which included interviews and surveillance, officers conducted a search warrant at an Oxford residence on Friday, May 26 (2023). This residence was believed to be directly related to the overdose death.
During the search, said Correia, officers located trafficking amounts of Fentanyl along with crack cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, and an assortment of prescription pills. The following people were charged as a result of the search warrant, said Jack:
· Morgan R Wormwood, 30, Oxford. Wormwood was charged with Trafficking Fentanyl and Violating Conditions of Release.
· Lionel F Noble, 49, Oxford. Noble was charged with Assault on an Officer and outstanding warrants for his arrest.
· Dawn M Tripp, 43, Oxford. Tripp was charged with Trafficking Fentanyl.
