Members of the Auburn city council expect to get an offer of $100,000 for Auburn hall and at least $31,000 for the Hampshire and Troy street properties. One of them said today that tenants have been notified they are “tenants at will” from now on, as authorized by the council at the special meeting deciding to sell the property to augment school construction funds.
50 Years Ago: 1973
Fewer farmer’s wives are milking the cows and gathering the eggs these days. Gardening? Canning? The little lady in gingham is more likely to be wearing a pants suit, studying, traveling, directing plays or, frequently, working in town.
