TURNER — Maddy Dutil singled twice and drove in two runs to lead Leavitt to a 5-2 victory over Morse in a softball game in Turner on Tuesday.
Sam Withee also singled twice and doubled for Leavitt (10-4). Winning pitcher Abby Albert went five innings and struck out nine batters. Hailey Cyr came in and pitched the final two innings for the save.
Morse’s Camdyn Johnson went six innings and struck out 13 batters. Haley Jackson doubled for the Shipbuilders (10-4).
MT. ABRAM 28, WISCASSET/BOOTHBAY 5: Abi Wilcox singled, doubled and tripled to lead the Roadrunners (5-9) past the Wolverines (0-14) in Salem.
Adrianna Stinchfield pitched three innings to earn the win.
Amy Caton and Ivory Cote each singled for the Wolverines.
OXFORD HILLS 23, YARMOUTH 2: Maddy Miller hit a grand slam and the Vikings (12-1) beat the Clippers (5-8) in Paris.
Miller also pitched all five innings for Oxford Hills, striking out six, walking one and allowing five hits.
Kaydence Morse tripled and singled for the Vikings, while Kyeria Morse and Miah Gallon had a double and a single apiece. Gigi DeVivo also had a pair of hits.
Julia Lawwil and Cat Rich each had a pair of hits for Oxford Hills.
EDWARD LITTLE 7, MT. BLUE 6: Amanda Raymond and Alexis Kelsea each had two hits, drove in two runs and scored two to lead the Red Eddies (7-7) to a narrow victory over the Cougars (1-12) in eight innings in Farmington.
Red Eddies winning pitcher Madisyn Scott also contributed at the plate with two hits and a run. Izzy Jalbert and Leah Thibodeau also had two hits. Scott and Raymond each hit a double.
Mt. Blue’s Molly Hambrick homered and had two hits and two runs, while Chloe Mayberry had two hits, score a run and drove in a run.
BASEBALL
MORSE 3, LEAVITT 2: The Shipbuilders (6-8) broke a tie in the ninth, and three pitchers combined on a one-hitter to earn the win in Bath.
Gavin Baillargeon (six innings), Calin Gould (two) and Caleb Harvey (one) teamed up to stifle the Hornets (7-7). Baillargeon struck out 13 batters while walking five. At the plate, he had two hits, two walks and scored two runs.
Will Keach had Leavitt’s hit, and took the loss on the mound. Starter Colton Taylor allowed four hits over six innings.
OXFORD HILLS 11, YARMOUTH 0: Eli Soehren allowed one hit in five innings as the Vikings (11-2) beat the Clippers (10-3) in Paris.
Soehren struck out six. He also had a triple. Kolby Brown homered and drove in three runs, and Nicholas Binette doubled, tripled, drove in two runs and scored three. Carter Holbrook led Oxford Hills with three hits, including a triple, and Brady Truman and Hunter Tardiff also had two hits.
David Swift singled in the fourth for Yarmouth.
MT. ABRAM 12, BOOTHBAY/WISCASSET 4: The Roadrunners (10-3) put the Seahawks (4-9) with a seven-run sixth inning in Salem Township.
Mt. Abram sent 12 batters to the plate in the bottom of the sixth. Bryce Wilcox led the offense with three hits, including a double. Logan Dube had two hits and Tucker Plouffe hit a triple.
Kaden Pillsbury earned the win by striking out eight in four innings.
Maddox Cusumano homered for Boothbay/Winthrop in a two-run top of the first inning.
EDWARD LITTLE 4, MT. BLUE 3: The Red Eddies (8-6) held off the Cougars (7-7) in Farmington.
Kade Masselli hit a two-run single in the top of the sixth and TJ Kramarz doubled home Masselli to give Edward Little a 4-0 lead. Brady Vincent and scored the game’s first run on a hit by Drew Smith in the fourth.
Mt. Blue answered with a run in the sixth and two in the bottom of the seventh. Hayden Dippner drove in Brody Walsh and then Zak Koban’s single brought home Jayden Meader to cut the deficit to 4-3 in the seventh. But Edward Little pitcher Brady Vincent induced a ground out to end the game.
Vincent (seven strikeouts) and Walsh (three strikeouts) each pitched a complete game for their respective teams.
GIRLS LACROSSE
WAYNFLETE 19, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER/POLAND: Tisley Kelly scored seven goals and the Flyers (5-7) pulled away in the second half to defeat the Patriots (3-8) in Portland.
Skylar Harris added five goals, Keegan Dolan had three and Morgan Earls two for Waynflete. Sasha Melnick and Lauren McNutt-Girouard also scored for the Flyers.
Andrea Smith led the Patriots with five goals. Lexi Wallingford and Hannah Bolduc added two each, and Samantha Poulin, Emma McMahon and Amelia Foster also scored.
