DEAR SUN SPOTS: You’ve printed this before but I lost the information. Can you give me the phone number for the SHAREcenter on Lisbon Street in Lewiston? — No name, no town

ANSWER: SHAREcenter is at 1830 Lisbon St. and is open Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 5 p.m. The a nonprofit organization accepts reusable items and supports Maine’s environment, education and economy. It supports schools, nonprofits, and other community programs during the school year.

SHAREcenter takes donations on the above days/times as well as on the first two Saturdays of the month from 9 a.m. to noon. You do not have to be a member to donate.

The organization is partnering with another nonprofit called Apparel Impact and has a bin for clothes and shoes on site on the Gould Street side of the building and hope to open the G-RE-EN for ME Emporium soon with 100% of the sale proceeds benefitting SHAREcenter.

On the organization’s Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/auburnsharecenter), you can send a request through Messenger on how to become a member. SHAREcenter offers memberships only to schools, nonprofits and homeschoolers, etc. They do not offer individual memberships.

The page also states that members need to reserve a time on Sign Up Genius before coming in. SHAREcenter is 100% self-funded and members pay only a nominal annual fee. Call 333-6671 or email Director Lisa Rodrigues at lrodrigues@auburnschl.edu for what types of donations are needed and any other questions you may have.
