The churches at North and West Auburn were opened for the first time for the summer on Sunday. Rev. C. S. Cummings supplies pulpits for the 19th consecutive summers. Sarah Staples entertained Cummings at lunch on Sunday.

Ray Spencer of the Lewiston Auburn Skating Club will show slides as the Portland Skating Club holds its first annual business meeting Thursday evening at Westcustogo Inn, Yarmouth, following a social hour and buffet. The club, formed last summer with the opening of the Riverside Arena, now includes a membership of about 80 people from the Portland, Brunswick and Lewiston areas. They attend weekly sessions devoted to recreational figure skating, instruction and pairs dancing at the Riverside Arena. The social hour is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. with the buffet at 7:30.
