DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Minot United Methodist Church at 142 Minot Ave. in Minot will host a bean and casserole supper with pies for dessert Saturday from 5 to 6 p.m. We would appreciate a donation of $7 per adult. Children under 12 are free.
On June 17 at 6 p.m. the church will hold an auction to raise money for the kitchen renovation project. Admission is free. We hope to see many of you at both functions.
Thank you, Sun Spots, for your help. We appreciate you getting these notices out to the public! — No name, Minot
ANSWER: I’m happy to do it! Just remember to send your notices in at least two weeks ahead of time, if possible.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: In the May 16 Sun Spots, I read that the United Methodist Church bean suppers would not be held until next September. Unfortunately, that has confused some of us because recently, there have been two United Methodist Church bean suppers mentioned in the Sun Journal, the one in Auburn on Park Avenue and the one in Minot.
In the paper, there was an announcement about the bean supper happening in Minot on Saturday, May 20.
Tuesday’s letter to Sun Spots leaves some of us wondering which church supper was that notice referring to, the one in Auburn, or the one in Minot? And that begs the question, will the supper in Minot still be held this Saturday? Thanks for all your good work. — Roland, Auburn
ANSWER: I’m sorry for the confusion, Roland. As stated in the announcement above, Minot is still having a May bean and casserole supper. The headline for Tuesday’s Sun Spots said the Auburn United Methodist Church was pausing its bean suppers for the summer.
I hope you can get to Minot on Saturday and enjoy good food and good friends.
