Residents of Greene, Leeds and Turner approved a $32.4 million budget Thursday for Maine School Administrative District 52. The vote was 249-211.

Turner and Leeds passed the budget; Greene rejected it.

In Turner, the vote was 113-89; in Leeds, 80-41; and in Greene, 56-81.

The spending plan for 2023-24, which includes a school resource officer from the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office, was approved with no amendments at the district budget meeting May 4. It is a 7.3% increase from this fiscal year’s $30.2 million.

For a property valued at $200,000, residents of Greene will pay roughly $208 more in school tax; residents of Leeds, $400; and residents of Turner, $240. The increase by town is determined by state property valuations.
