DEAR SUN SPOTS: For the lady who asked about hairdressers with shampoo trays (May 10 Sun Spots), my hairdresser in Auburn has one that she uses when she washes my hair as I cannot lean over the bowl of the sink.
I told my hairdresser about your request and she gave me permission to give out her phone number. She is on Center Street and readers can reach her at 207-402-7431. Her name is Lisa and she will be happy to hear from you.
Keep up the good work, we love your column. —Irene, Auburn
ANSWER: Thanks for writing, Irene, and for being such a loyal reader over the years. You are someone I can depend on to be a helper when these requests come up and I really appreciate it.
Sun Spotters, if you know of other hair stylists who can accommodate people with neck issues, please let me know and I’ll add them to the Rolodex.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: After reading about Concord Coach Lines in the May 11 Sun Spots, I’m wondering if you will let us know if you hear anything. I use the bus regularly and don’t know of any issues but it would be nice to have the Exit 75 facility open again. I’m guessing it’s because of not being able to staff it. —Mandy, Lewiston
ANSWER: I received a cordial call back from Concord Coach Lines President Ben Blunt last Thursday, and yes, Mandy you are right. The facility on South Washington St., which opened about five years ago, has been affected by the hit COVID-19 threw at the tourist and traveling industry and like so many other businesses, staffing issues play a part in the terminal remaining closed.
The pick-up and drop-off schedule has not been modified but I’m sure those who use the facility must miss the level of service you would expect at a staffed bus station.
Ben assured me that the family-owned company is focused on reopening the terminal but there is no timeline for that to transpire just yet. Meanwhile, Concord Coach Line staff are caring for the building and grounds, there are security cameras and safety lighting on the premises, and Ben is not aware of any issues or concerns currently. In other words, this station is on the radar and being cared for.
He encourages anyone who does have concerns or witnesses anything unsafe to call Concord Coach at the corporate office at 1-603-228-3535.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have a large quantity of wool strips and pieces for rug braiding. Please call 207-320-3150 if interested. —No name, no town
ANSWER: I’m sure a Sun Spotter will be very happy to take that off your hands.
