ANSWER: This is a reminder for those who wish to rent a table at the event. It’s coming right up!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Canton Park & Trail group has scheduled our annual Plant Sale for May 27 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will be held at the beautiful Heritage Park on Route 108 in Canton.

Perennial plants will be sold and the funds raised will be used for the upkeep or special needs of both the Whitney Brook Trail and the Heritage Park. We welcome any donations of plants or plant pots. Jolene can be reached at 597-2168 for donations or more information.

Thank you so much to Sun Spots for always being the best place to get the word out! — Becky, Canton

ANSWER: I love that all these plant sales are happening. Readers, if you are thinning out your plants, please share. And if you have extra pots piling up in your shed or garage, please don’t send them to the recycling center or put them in the trash. These are needed elsewhere, as you can see.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: We are seeking volunteers to help perform tasks at the McLaughlin Garden and Homestead, a public non-profit garden in South Paris from May through November.

Power Propagators is a group of volunteers who pot up plants that have been dug from the garden to sell once they’re ready. This group meets the second Tuesday of the month from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. through Sept. 12.

Also, each Thursday during the season a group of volunteers meets to help weed the garden. Come join the gardener with this chore. We’d love to see some new faces. — Becky, So. Paris

ANSWER: Please let me know if you need more helpers and I’ll continue to nudge our readers!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Please shed some light on the fate of the Lewiston-Auburn Transportation Center (Exit 75) bus terminal on South Washington Street.

Depending on who you talk to at Concord Coach Lines, the terminal is either temporarily or permanently closed. Although buses still arrive and depart there, it has been shuttered since the pandemic. As passengers no longer have access to the facility, does Concord’s management team have any safety or liability concerns? Thanks for providing any updated information. — No name, Lewiston

ANSWER: This facility is indeed closed for now and the representative I spoke with at Concord’s 1-800 number didn’t know if it would reopen or not.

She suggested I reach out to the corporate office in New Hampshire which I did, but no one has returned my call. Of course, if you would like to try to call the corporate office yourself, the number to call is 1-603-22-3535.
