University of Maine at Farmington senior Hunter LaBossiere and sophomore Nate Coombs were each named to the North Atlantic Conference’s East Division All-Conference baseball team Thursday.
LaBossiere was one of three outfielders selected to the NAC’s East Division team. Coombs was the lone second baseman named East Division All-Conference.
LaBossiere, an Oxford Hills graduate, became the UMaine-Farmington program’s career hits leader earlier this season. He also ripped off an 11-game hit streak starting on April 16 and hit safely in 13 of his final 15 games. He finished the campaign with a .328 batting average on a team-high 45 hits — including 10 doubles and one home run. He drove in 17 runs and scored a career-high 23.
Coombs, an Oceanside graduate, batted .301 with a .417 on-base percentage. He scored a team-high 26 runs and his 21 RBIs tied for the team lead.

UMF’S MERRITT, PIKE MAKE NAC 2ND TEAM: UMaine-Farmington junior Kiley Merritt and freshman Maddie Pike were both chosen to the NAC’s East Division All-Conference second team Thursday.
Merritt, a Lisbon graduate, batted .250 with seven RBIs, 12 runs scored and was a perfect 5 for 5 on stolen-base attempts.
Pike, a Kennebunk graduate, hit .325 — including two home runs and eight doubles — and drove in 16 runs while scoring 15.
WOMEN’S LACROSSE
STINSON EARNS NAC SELECTION: University of Maine at Farmington senior defender Emily Stinson was named to the NAC All-Conference first team earlier this week. It’s the second first-team honor of Stinson’s career, after receiving the accolade for the first time last season.
The Massabesic graduate improved her numbers in caused turnovers and ground balls from her NAC Defensive Player of the Year campaign as a junior. As a senior, Stinson collected 39 ground balls and 32 caused turnovers, up from 34 and 21, respectively.
MEN’S LACROSSE
WILSON NAMED NAC PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Maine Maritime Academy’s Jayden Wilson, a Lewiston grad, was tabbed the Player of the Year by the NAC earlier this week.
The fifth-year senior leads the conference in goals (4.25 per game) and points (6.75) in NAC play. He is fourth in all of NCAA Division III in points per game. Wilson’s 57 goals and 94 points are both MMA single-season records.
