DEAR SUN SPOTS: Volunteers are needed for the Annual Spring Cleanup for Riverside Cemetery on May 13 from 9:30 a.m. until noon.

This is Lewiston’s historic cemetery where there are more than 1,200 veterans’ graves dating back to the Revolutionary War, as well as more than 24 mayors, many senators, and the founders of Bates College, Central Maine Medical Center and the Sun Journal.

Some equipment will be available, but please bring your yard tools if you can. Rakes and tarps are especially helpful. We hope you will follow up your work time with a self-guided tour of the cemetery. Directions are available at the site. — Joan, no town

ANSWER: Riverside Cemetery is at 180-192 Summer St. It covers a very large area and it takes many hours of work and many dedicated people to keep it looking nice.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Broadview Memorial Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting Sunday, May 21, at 1 p.m. at the cemetery at 379 East Ave. in Lewiston. Election of officers for 2023-24 will be held.

Be sure to dress according to the weather and bring a chair because we will be outside. If you have questions contact me at 783-6839. — Joe, Lewiston

ANSWER: I hope the weather cooperates for both these events and that you have a good turnout. Thank you to all those who care for the area cemeteries and keep things running smoothly.

DEAR SUNSPOTS: Once again, I’m asking for your help to spread the word for Danville Junction Grange at 15 Grange St. in Auburn. On Saturday, May 27, we will sponsor an indoor/outdoor Yard and Craft Sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

We will have tables to rent to crafters or others who would like to turn their unwanted treasures into cash. Table rental is $20 and can be reserved by calling Maynard Chapman at 312-5591. Leave  a message and he will get back to you.

We look forward to seeing all our friends and neighbors who have always been so supportive. There will be a raffle table, a baked goods table and lots of white elephant items for sale. The rain date is June 3, but let’s hope for nice weather May 27.

Your help is so appreciated, Ms. Sun Spots. This community would not be the same without you. Our Open House on April 29 was a huge success!  We had many visitors interested in tours and learning about the Grange and even handed out several membership applications, two of which have already been signed. We owe a large part of our success to you, dear Ms. Sun Spots, for helping us spread the word! —No name, Auburn

ANSWER: I’m always happy to help and hope you continue to have a great response at all your upcoming events. You do a wonderful job promoting the Grange and I know everyone works hard doing their part.

Thank you for making me feel so appreciated!
