DEAR SUN SPOTS: I want to say thank you for all the help you have provided me with in the past. I need your help once again. Before my sister passed away, she was teaching me to crochet. I have just finished making a lap blanket and am looking for someone to help me finish it; how to do the top and bottom of it to make it look nice.
I do not know how to read directions or understand them. I just need someone to show me what to do.
If there’s anyone within Bethel or the surrounding area who would be willing to help me, please contact me at 357-7363. I would really appreciate it. — No name, Bethel
ANSWER: I’m sure a generous Sun Spotter will reach out to you. Let us know what happens.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: I read you first thing before I go through the rest of the paper. You are so helpful.
On Channel 8 News, where are Ross K., Talia C., and Adriana S. from?
Can you find out information about the Oasis Clinic in Brunswick that helps low-income families?
Where is there a Sonic Drive-in and a Red Lobster in Maine?
Thank you for all you do. — Alice, Bowdoin
ANSWER: Ross Ketschke joined WMUR in New Hampshire, a sister station. According to her Facebook page, Adriana Sanchez left WMTW at the beginning of February to focus on taking care of herself. Talia Clarke is still with WMTW.
The Oasis Free Clinic (https://oasisfreeclinics.org/) offers no-cost, whole-person primary care medical and dental services to uninsured adults ages 18 to 64 in midcoast Maine. It also provides a prescription assistance program to all community members who cannot afford their critical medications.
It also identifies patients who may be financially eligible for MaineCare and help them with their applications. MaineCare is a state program that provides health insurance to adults and children with low incomes. The organization’s MaineCare Navigator follows applications through the submission and approval process and follows up with patients if additional information is needed. Natigators also work with patients when it is time to reapply.
There is a form on the website to use for contacting them or call 721-9277. They are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
I’m sorry to break this to you, but there are no Sonic restaurants in Maine. You’ll have to drive to Peabody, Somerset, Stoughton, or Springfield, Massachusetts, which are closest locations.
As for Red Lobster, it looks like you would have to trek to Connecticut for an authentic Red Lobster meal. There are restaurants in Bridgeport, Danbury, North Haven, and Wethersfield.
If you have a mighty craving for those crazy-good biscuits, or those cheesy flaky tidbits that are the draw, the Red Lobster boxed mix is sold at Walmart, Reny’s, and some grocery stores. I also found this recipe link: https://www.spendwithpennies.com/red-lobster-cheddar-bay-biscuits/.
There are also copycat recipes for their brussels sprouts, shrimp scampi, and more. Just Google it!
