The Sun Journal is doing a good job running stories on the trial over the New England Clean Energy Connect.
A few weeks ago, Portland Press Herald writer Tux Turkel raised the issue of the costs of legal participation in the trial by Natural Resources Council of Maine.
According to the article, NRCM received a letter from Portland law firm Drummond Woodsum telling the council it would receive legal representation at no charge. According to Mr. Turkel, NRCM declined to say who was paying the Drummond Woodsum fees.
The question has still not been answered. If I were an NRCM donor or member, I’d want to know what entity is using the organization as a false front, and what exactly is its true interests.
