The sprawling former Pineland Lumber complex at 10 Avon St. in Lewiston was cleared of most structures last weekend, leaving a few outbuildings and the smokestack. The 5.5 acre property next to the Androscoggin River was purchased from Lewiston Waterfront Development on March 19, 2021, by SPME AVON, a registered Maine Foreign Limited-Liability Company involved in real estate development, according to city and online sources.
