LEWISTON — The Cooperative Maine Business Alliance will hold its 9th annual Principle Six Conference on Saturday at the University of Southern Maine Lewiston Campus, at 51 Webster St.
The conference provides space for Maine cooperatives to join forces in building a strong and more equitable economy in Maine. This year’s theme is Cooperatives: People Powered Solutions.
During this time of drastic economic change, people are finding cooperative and democratic ownership to provide robust and lasting solutions for individuals, businesses and communities. The conference will feature a keynote speech by David Hammer from the ICA Group and a morning celebration of the local cooperative ecosystem.
Attendees will participate in a range of skill-building workshops, experience firsthand storytelling from different co-op sectors, and engage in networking and advocacy efforts that enhance collaboration within Maine’s cooperative economy.
Fedco Seeds, Rising Tide Co-op, Bernstein Shur, Bangor Savings Bank, Maine DACF and the Cooperative Fund of the Northeast have provided funds to support registration, interpretation, child care and transportation expenses for attendees who need it.
