With a fifth-inning single in the second game of a doubleheader Sunday, Hunter LaBossiere reached the 100-hit milestone for his University of Maine at Farmington baseball career.

The Oxford native and Oxford Hills graduate is the 12th player in program history to reach the century mark. Tom Grady owns the program record with 127 career hits.

LaBossiere, a senior, is a career .275 hitter for the Beavers (100 for 364), but he’s batted better than that for the Beavers so far this season, hitting at a .306 clip (15 for 49).

UMaine-Farmington has 22 games left on its schedule, starting with a nonconference road game at Bowdoin on Tuesday, followed by a home opener doubleheader Saturday against Thomas, which kicks off North Atlantic Conference play.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE
RACINE HONORED: University of Southern Maine junior Cece Racine was named the Little East Conference Goalie of the Week on Monday.

The Lewiston grad played the first half of a pair of wins for the Huskies over the past week, allowing a combined three goals across the two games. She gave up two while making two saves against Wellesley, then made four saves while giving up just one goal against Castleton — including a pair of saves on free position shots.

MEN’S LACROSSE
WILSON REPEATS: Maine Maritime attack Jadyen Wilson, a Lewiston graduate, earned North Atlantic Conference Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week honors for the second straight week, the conference announced Monday.

In three games last week, during which the Mariners went 2-1, Wilson scored 12 goals, including one in a loss at Bates. He also tallied three assists, eight ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Wilson was especially effective in Maine Maritime’s two NAC games. Against SUNY Delhi, he scored three goals, and in a 24-6 victory over SUNY Cobleskill, he netted eight goals and three assists. In the latter game he also became the fourth player in Mariners program history to reach 200 points in his career.
