JAY — Spruce Mountain Adult Education, in cooperation with Maine CareerCenters and the Maine Department of Labor Rapid Response Team, has scheduled a hiring event from 3 to 7 p.m. on Monday, March 13, at Spruce Mountain Middle School at 23 Community Drive in Jay. The event will be held in the gym.

The event, which had originally been scheduled in Livermore Falls at the RSU 73 Adult Education office on Cedar Street, is for Pixelle Androscoggin Mill workers and the general public.

Pixelle Specialty Solutions of Pennsylvania announced in September it would be closing the mill in Jay during the first quarter of 2023. The closure will affect 230 workers.
