MINOT — Twenty five voters weathered the snowstorm Saturday morning and approved all 46 Town Meeting warrant articles at the Minot Consolidated School.
The municipal budget of $1,952,000, which passed, was nearly $30,000 less than the town allocated in 2022.
Minot operates on a calendar year budget from January to December.
Town Administrator Danielle Loring said the town had been able keep the budget in line despite increases in town salaries and the high inflation rate that impacted goods, services and supplies.
Minot’s annual report, which contained the warrant articles, was dedicated to Wayne Bridgham, who passed away in January 2022 .
Bridgham is descended from settlers who arrived in Minot in the 1700s.
He operated the family farm on Center Minot Hill and was considered a very talented singer, once dubbed “The Singing Farmer” by the Sun Journal.
Daniel Callahan Jr. was heralded with the town’s Spirit of America award.
Callahan served 16 years on the Select Board and 15 years on the Planning Board, as well as working on the Budget Committee and Appeals Board.
Unofficial results from Friday night’s municipal elections saw Brittany Hemond win reelection to the Select Board with 41 votes over write-in candidate Mary Letourneau.
Elizabeth Martin, with 37 votes, won election to serve three years on the Regional School Unit 16 board of directors. She beat write-in candidates Letourneau, Richard Bernier and Jeff Gagnon.
Angela Swenson won the one-year term on the RSU 16 board with 41 votes.
