Nick Garey is the first student at Poland Regional High School to complete the Jobs for Maine Graduates Maine Career Exploration Badge.
Garey, a senior from Minot, spent his time at the Norway Veterinary Hospital experiencing what it is like to work as a veterinarian. He said this opportunity allowed him to see different aspects of the work, and without a doubt confirmed his passion to become a veterinarian for his future career, according to a news release from Amy Hediger, assistant superintendent for Regional School Unit 16.
The program offers Maine high school juniors and seniors an opportunity to participate in 40 hours of meaningful work experience.
