AUBURN — Good Shepherd Food Bank of Maine was the recipient of Northern Light Health’s True North Community Partner Award for the food bank’s work addressing food insecurity.
The award recognizes a person or organization in the community that has helped Northern Light Health deliver on its goal of enhancing community health.
In 2022, the food bank worked with health care organizations to provide food kits to patients, including Northern Light Health. With Good Shepherd’s assistance, Northern Light Health distributed more than 51,000 pounds of food to those in need in 2022.
“Strong community collaborators, like Northern Light Health, help improve access to nutritious food for Mainers when and where they need it,” Kristen Miale, president of Good Shepherd Food Bank of Maine, said. “Good Shepherd is honored to receive the 2022 True North Community Partner award, and we look forward to working with Northern Light Health for many years.”
