LEWISTON — Local police and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service are investigating an armed robbery of a USPS letter carrier on Thursday afternoon.
According to a statement by Lewiston police, at about 5 p.m. a USPS letter carrier was robbed in the area of 66 Westminster St. The suspect stole postal equipment from the carrier, who was not injured.
Police provided no details on the equipment stolen.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact the U.S. Postal Inspection Service at 877-876-2455 or the Lewiston Police Department at 513-3001, ext. 3322.
The police statement said the investigation is ongoing and that no additional details will be released at this time.
