BETHEL — Jayce Brophy and Dirigo outdueled Morgan Zetts and host Telstar for a 58-38 MVC girls basketball victory for the Cougars on Friday.
Brophy poured in 33 points for the Cougars (5-12). Grace Robbin added 10 points in the win.
Zetts dropped in 24 points for the Rebels (2-13).
THORNTON 50, EDWARD LITTLE 38: Addisen Sulikowski scored 15 points and Hannah Cook and Jessica Dow each added 11 as the Golden Trojans (15-1) defeated the Red Eddies (6-10) in Saco.
Emily Coleman finished with seven points and Kylie Lamson had six points for Thornton, which led 35-18 after three quarters.
Rachel Penny led Edward Little with 14 points, including four 3-pointers. She was followed by Tess Robbins with 10 points.
CARRABEC 58, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 43: Lindsay Hamilton had a game-high 27 points for the Cobras in the win over the Falcons in North Anson.
Molly Hay added 24 points for Carrabec (8-7) in the win.
Justice Gendron had eight points for Mountain Valley (7-8).
KENTS HILL 55, OAK HILL 26: Regina Sabinora scored 20 points as the Huskies (16-0) stayed undefeated with a win in Wales.
Logan McDonald added 17 points for Kents Kill. Ariana Thibeault led Oak Hill (7-10) with 16 points.
VALLEY 62, MT. ABRAM 57: Madeline Hill scored 28 points as the Cavaliers (13-3) earned the narrow win in Bingham.
Madeline Hill added 13 points and Kirsten Bigelow 12 for Valley.
Kirsten Bigelow scored 18 points for Mt. Abram (7-9), while Kharlie Turner had 12.
FRYEBURG 53, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 48, OT: Mina Milosevic scored five of her 25 points in overtime to help the Raiders (7-10) beat the Patriots (13-3) in Gray.
Jilyan Byrne chipped in with 11 points for Fryeburg.
Izzy Morelli scored 13 points, Ali Portas followed with 12 and Amber Fortin finished with 11 for the Patriots.
MESSALONSKEE 53, MT. BLUE 37: The Eagles outscored the Cougars 21-3 in the fourth quarter to claim their first win of the season in Oakland.
Ashley Mullen had a game-high 23 points for Messalonskee (1-15). The Eagles also got eight points, five rebounds and three steals each from Kiera Goldsmith and Candace Pelotte.
K.K. Daggett scored 17 points to lead Mt. Blue, which fell to 2-13.
BOYS BASKETBALL
OXFORD HILLS 70, BANGOR 45: Teagan Pelletier led the Vikings (15-1) with 23 points in a win over the Rams (2-14) in Paris.
Holden Shaw dropped in 13 points and Cole Pulkkinen added 11 in the win.
Connor Boone led Bangor with 12 points, Matt Holmes chipped in with 11 points and Wyatt Stevens had 10.
MT. BLUE 57, MESSALONSKEE 50: Zach Poisson led the Cougars (11-5) with 19 points in the win over the Eagles (6-10) in Farmington.
Evans Sterling had 17 and Chandler Briggs had 14 points in the win.
Dan Parent paced Messalonskee with 19 points and Merrick Smith had 14 points.
GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 72, FRYEBURG 47: Nate Hebert led the Patriots (13-3) with 21 points in the win over the Raiders (9-8) in Fryeburg.
Mike Ryan had 18 points and Noah Hebert had 11 points.
Joao Teixeira Orlando led Fryeburg with 15 points and Gunnar Saunders had 12 points.
CAPE ELIZABETH 66, POLAND 42: Owen Tighe scored 23 points to lead the Capers (10-7) over the visiting Knights (4-11) in Cape Elizabeth.
Antonio Dell’Aquila added 12 points on four 3-pointers for the Capers, who led 20-12 after one quarter and 50-29 after three quarters following an 18-6 run in the third quarter.
John Patenaude led Poland with 16 points.
