MEN’S BASKETBALL
CMCC 64, BRYANT & STRATTON 51: Led by Wyatt Hathaway, the Mustangs (13-4) pulled away from the Bobcats (10-9) in the second half in Auburn.
Bryant & Stratton-Albany led 21-19 at halftime, and maintained its lead until Central Maine Community College went on an 11-0 run to take a 35-28 lead with 11:34 left. The Mustangs continued to add to their advantage the remainder of the game.
Hathaway made three 3-pointers and scored 17 of his game-high 24 points in the second half. Cam Pollack, whose 3 gave CMCC the lead for good, added 11 points, and Boston Caldwell scored 10.
Detric Hearst led the Bobcats with 20 points.
UMF 81, UMPI 74: Four players scored in double figures as the Beavers (13-7, 9-1 NAC) held off the Owls (6-12, 3-6 NAC) for the second win in Presque Isle in less than 24 hours.
UMaine-Farmington led 34-25 at halftime and built their lead as high as 20 points in the second half — 60-40 with 9:36 remaining — but UMaine-Presque Isle chipped away and cut the deficit to five points twice in the final two minutes.
Terion Moss, who scored 38 in the Beavers’ 81-74 win Friday, led UMF’s offensive attack with 23 points, which was highlighted by 10-for-10 shooting at the free throw line. Kyle Donlin contributed 14 points, while Jack Kane and Drew Storey each tallied 12 points. Kane also pulled down 14 rebounds.
Dany Harris shot 10 for 15 from the field and scored a game-high 24 points for UMPI. Griffin Guerrette, Gilbert Jean Mendez and KJ Minter each finished with 12 points.
WILLIAMS 75, BATES 59: Spencer Spivy scored 19 points as the Ephs (17-3, 5-2 NESCAC) beat the Bobcats (7-12, 1-5) in Williamstown, Massachusetts.
Steph Baxter had 18 points for Bates.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
CMCC 91, UMFK 77: Lewiston grad Emily Strachan led a balanced attack featuring six players in double figures as the Mustangs outshot the Bengals in Auburn.
Strachan scored 17 points — including going 10 of 15 from the foul line — Luna Love and Edward Little grad Chantel Ouellette each scored 13, Kali Thompson tallied 12 and Clara Bandh and Rangeley grad Winnie LaRochelle dropped in 11 and 10, respectively.
Central Maine Community College took control with a 33-17 third quarter after leading 33-31 at halftime.
Arieyle Baker poured in a game-high 22 points and grabbed 17 rebounds off the bench for University of Maine at Fort Kent. Jzane Cavalli-Money scored 21 points while starting for the Bengals.
UMPI 68, UMF 51: Emily Wheaton led the Owls (11-6, 5-2 NAC) with a game-high 18 points and eight assists in a win over the Beavers (2-17, 1-9 NAC) in Presque Isle.
Aleia Milano added 12 points for University of Maine at Presque Isle, which jumped out to a 22-11 lead after one quarter.
Jaycie Stevens and Grace Dwyer scored eight points apiece to lead University of Maine at Farmington.
WILLIAMS 61, BATES 51: Maddy Mandyck had 16 points and 14 rebounds as the Ephs (14-7, 5-2 NESCAC) beat the Bobcats (9-9, 2-4) in Lewiston.
Meghan Graff finished with 12 points and Alexandra Long had 11 for Bates.
