MAINE — As a fun way to introduce itself, a new company is holding a logo design contest that Maine students can enter. The creator of the winning design will be awarded $1,000.

Physix, an AI company in Dover-Foxcroft is developing an app geared toward health that will measure the effect of food, activity and medicine on well-being to tune both physical and mental health. The name of the app is UniΦ.

“The app is all about being healthy and learning life skills regardless of geographical location,” according to the company’s website announcing the contest. “The logo will be used globally, simple shapes are good.”

The logo must be copyright-able.

Contestants must be in Kindergarten through grade 12 in a private or public school or a homeschooled student [under 18] living in Maine.

“College students are not eligible to participate at this time,” Blake Dyer, who is working with Physix on the contest, wrote in an email to The Franklin Journal Monday, Jan. 23. “If a winner is not chosen by the end of February, we may consider opening it up to college students. However, we would like to limit the entries to those under 18 for now.

“The winner will be decided on a state-wide vote while finalists will be determined by those directly working on the project as it stands now.” The deadline is flexible as it stands but the last day submissions will be accepted is the last day of February,” Dyer noted.

Inquiries about the contest and submissions should be emailed to art@supramagic.com.

“The winner will be notified approximately one week after voting ends – date to be determined,” Dyer noted. “The winner will want to include their best contact information with their submission.”
