Tyler DesRochers led the Johnstown Tomahawks to a weekend sweep of the Maine Nordiques.

The defensemen scored the tying and go-ahead goals in the Tomahawks’ 4-3 victory Saturday in an NAHL East Division contest at the 1st Summit Arena at Cambria County War Memorial in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.

The Tomahawks (15-17-2, 32 points) are now two points behind the Nordiques (16-14-2, 34 points) for the fourth and final playoff spot in the East Division.

Filip Wiberg gave the Nordiques a 3-2 lead seven minutes into the third period on the power play, with linemates Brendan Gibbons and Jonny Meiers recording the assists.

However, a little over a minute later is when DesRochers tied the game. Former Maine Nordiques Academy player Anthony Galante and Zachary Aben had the helpers.

DesRochers, a Mercyhurst commit, scored the game-winning goal with under four minutes remaining on the man-advantage.
